Academic Advising
Advisors are available to guide students toward their intended educational goals. Eastern Florida State College uses a case-management approach to academic advising; each student is assigned a personal advisor who serves as a consistent point of contact throughout the student’s academic journey.
Advisors are available by appointment or on a walk-in basis at all campus locations. Advising services include discussion of degree and certificate options and requirements, review of placement test results, development of individualized degree plans for graduation or transfer preparation, and assistance with course selection. Advisors also provide referrals for career exploration and connect students with campus and community resources to support personal or academic concerns.
All first-time-in-college students are required to meet with an advisor prior to course registration. New student group advising sessions are offered during designated registration periods. Students are encouraged to visit the College website to connect with advising services online.
