CJL 1400  Criminal Procedure  
Credit Hours:   3  
This course is an examination of the fundamental principles and procedures employed in the investigation of crimes. Students will study a comprehensive introduction to criminal procedures, from the first point of contact with the police, all the way through to the appeal process. Other topics covered will include the examination of the landmark decisions in the criminal justice system and the implications upon criminal procedures such as evidence processing, presenting and admissibility of evidence, interrogation procedures, and securing of admissions and confessions.
CJL 1610  Courtroom Presentation of Evidence  
Credit Hours:   3  
Prerequisites: CJE 1642 with a grade of "C" or higher  
This course covers dress, grooming, speaking, listening and stress control during courtroom proceedings. Visual aid preparation and presentations of all evidence (commonly referred to as "scientific evidence") collected at the crime scene are also included. Mock trial exercises will be used.
CJL 2401  Criminal Law

This course explores the foundations of criminal law within the American criminal justice system, tracing its origins, constitutional underpinnings, and practical applications. Students will analyze how criminal law is created, interpreted, and applied while evaluating key legal principles, defenses, and procedural safeguards that ensure justice and due process.
